Further, Dr. Cochran is one of the first dentists in the entire Louisville area to be trained in the FDA-approved Laser Periodontal Therapy procedure.

Quiet, Comfortable and Convenient Care

You will hear only minimal sound while being treated with the laser, as tiny drops of water are vaporized to create an extremely narrow, very focused stream of energy. This powerful stream gently and precisely removes a wide range of damaged tissue, much like a drill, but without the noise, vibration or heat. This means no need for any more than topical anesthesia in most cases. No needles, and no numb lips! Plus, the laser is so precise that it leaves behind as much of the healthy tooth as possible, which allows you to keep your own teeth longer.

Since you probably won’t need to wait for anesthesia, you'll be on your way in no time, without the “mush mouth” feeling generally associated with dental procedures. AND, since we offer the option of fast hardening, composite resin fillings, which will closely match the color of your teeth, you can head straight for lunch after finishing your procedure.

Further, laser treatment eliminates many of the problems that come with high speed drills, including cracks in the teeth from the vibration caused by the rapidly turning, heat producing drill bit, which can weaken your teeth and cause even more problems.
